Chrysal Publishes First Sustainability Report

28 October 2025

Naarden, The Netherlands – Chrysal, a global leader in flower care products, proudly announces the release of the first Sustainability Report. This report highlights and explains Chrysal’s dedication towards a sustainable flower industry, detailing the sustainability strategy and approach and significant advancements in circular packaging and the reduction of carbon emissions.

This is Chrysal’s first comprehensive sustainability report, marking the start of our reporting journey. The report reflects the strong commitment to transparency and continuous sustainable development, while integrating several Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD)-aligned approaches and topics. Since 2022, we have been working toward CSRD compliance, and this report showcases our progress, including our Double Materiality Assessment, value chain and stakeholder analyses, and a range of actions, targets, and metrics related to our material topics.

“Sustainability is at the core of our strategy. Our goal is to build a flower industry together with our partners, where we can enjoy flowers without harming the planet or people,” said Remko Muntinga, CEO of Chrysal. “This report not only reflects our current efforts but also sets the stage for future initiatives aimed at achieving our ambitious sustainability targets.”

The report underscores Chrysal’s strategy for achieving its sustainability ambitions, structured around four key pillars: fighting climate change, contributing to a sustainable economy, caring for people, and striving for a positive environmental impact. Each pillar outlines our approach and ongoing efforts in its respective area. For example, under Fighting Climate Change, the report highlights actions to reduce the CO₂ footprint, including optimizing logistics through sea freight services for our customers - a solution that significantly lowers carbon emissions compared to air transport. Under Contributing to a Sustainable Economy, readers will find initiatives aimed at reducing plastic waste through innovative, recyclable packaging solutions, such as sustainable sachets.

Chrysal’s sustainability journey integrates sustainability into all business processes and involves all employees through workshops, and personal sustainability targets. This collective effort ensures that every department contributes to the overarching goal of sustainability.
