Spray carnation care tips

spray carnation

The spray carnation is a wonderful flower, and is a version of the regular carnation. But where the carnation consists of a single flower, the spray carnation has multiple. Originally the flower, which has a relatively high tolerance for cold, could be found in Southern Europe. The flowers on its branched stems can have many different colours, like red, pink, yellow and purple.

Post-harvest treatment at the grower is very, very important for the durability of the flowers. If treated with Chrysal AVB the spray carnation is protected against ethylene; something the flower is very sensitive too. Using Chrysal Ethylene Buster in addition can further strengthen the effect of the AVB treatment. This will provide customers with a longer enjoyment.

Spray carnation care tips for florists

To keep spray carnations in top condition in store we advise using a solution of Professional 2. This keeps the flowers fresh, helps retain their colour and prevents the flowers from opening up too much. Your spray carnation will last a lot longer and you will experience less waste. For floral arrangements and vases you can use Professional 3. It contains the much needed nutrients that your flowers need to bloom and keeping them fresh for up to 60% longer. Also it is very important to provide enough flower food to your customers so they will be able to enjoy your work as long as possible.
